Nanaimo, BC, March 2011- On May 15, 2011 Kildare Riding School in Maple Ridge (12266 240th Street, Maple Ridge, B.C. V4R 1N1, (604) 467-3713) is excited to be hosting an fundraiser for Gal-Up Equestrian Foundation, in celebration of Equine Awareness Day. From 12pm-4pm the stables will open their gates to the public for an afternoon of horses, family and fun.

Gal-Up Equestrian Program is a non-profit organization that helps young girls who are at risk by connecting them with horses and positive female role models. Through out the course of the Gal-Up Program young girls will explore areas such as leadership, boundaries, accountability, self confidence, authenticity and community. Under the guidance of our professionals, from equine, psychological, medical and educational backgrounds, the girls will explore life lessons with the most compassionate and honest teachers, the horses.

Gal-Up would like to thanks Kildare Riding School for hosting the event and offering pony rides by donation, Jodine Carruthers for donating $5 from all copies of The Joy of the Journey sold at the event and our corporate sponsors.

Kildare Riding School, in Maple Ridge, provides you and your children with a safe, fun and happy place where you can enjoy a great recreational activity as a family. Jodine Carruthers is an Equine Behaviour Specialist, author of The Joy of the Journey and the founder of Harmonious Horsemanship. A lifelong horsewoman, she has dedicated her career to empowering and improving the lives of horses and humans through education, communication, and the depth of connection found through her teachings..
